Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons.”

My pen name is Hibiscus Rosa, after the national flower of my homeland, Malaysia. Deep in my heart I will always be my late beloved father’s little girl, so I have kept his name Noor in loving memory. I’m a dear daughter and sister to loved ones in the East. I’m a devoted wife and mother to loved ones in the West. I’m a true friend to those who know me well. I’ve been educated both in the East and in the West. I’m a woman very much into all things simple, genuine, enlightening and delightful in life; people, food, music, literature, art, history, philosophy, psychology, nature, landscape, the changing seasons. I’m trying to live by this quote as I enter the second half of my existence: “Stop every now and then, just stop and enjoy. Take a deep breath. Relax and take in the abundance of life.” In this fast paced and challenging world, it’s almost impossible to do so sometimes. Yet we realised life is too short to be in a constant state of stress, especially over petty matters, and things we have no control over. It is definitely not worth it. I want to be able to enjoy every remaining moment of my life in peace and tranquility as much as possible, by seeking all that is good and beautiful around me, the way I used to as a child. “Delight in the beauty that surrounds you, lose yourself in nature and find peace.” InshaAllah. I dedicate this blog to my beloved parents, who made my happy carefree childhood possible, who taught me to live and love whole-heartedly, regardless of where I am. My deepest endless gratitude, love and prayers are for them always. ❤
